I was born in Jamaica in 1968 and due to my father’s job, was brought up in many different countries.
After five years at Bedales School in Hampshire I settled back home in England in 1986 to pursue my training at the West Surrey College of Art & Design and then a four-year apprenticeship with Spanish illustrator, Roger Barcillon at the Gemini School of Illustration.
For five years I ran my own business providing hand painted artwork for clients in the UK and Scandinavia. This included:
• Editorial and advertising work (magazine illustration, book covers and children’s books)
• Concept illustration for industrial and product design
• Theatre scenography
• Cartoons and caricatures.
In the following years I branched out into digital graphic design for packaging, point of sales, corporate identity and retail design. I spent five years as Art Director for SCA Packaging Display in Sweden where I set up an in-house design agency to provide point-of-sale material for Disney, Coca Cola, Master Foods (Mars), and Gillette.
Since my return to the UK I have focused on storyboarding for film, television and advertsing. I have always maintained a regular flow of private painting commissions.
