Here’s a rough guide to the estimated number of frames achievable in an 8 hour work day. I am allowing time for discussing the brief, collecting references, drawing rough thumbnails and final boards.

1. I generally start a job with a really quick set of rough thumbnails (almost stick-man stuff) just to agree the order and number of shots for the whole sequence.

2. Simple line art 20-25 frames

3. Line and shade 15-20 frames

4. Basic colour 10-12 frames

5. Detailed coloured key frames 4-6
